DEATH OF LITTLE GIRL.
ACCIDENTALLY POISONED. FATALITY AT CAM3RIDGE. TOOK RABBIT POISON. CAMBRIDGE, Saturday. An inquiry was held into the circumstances surrounding the death of Betty Nina James, aged two -years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy H. James, French Pass Road.
Evidence was given that while the mother and father were away at the milking shed - the little girl and her brother, agpd three years nine months, were playing in front of the house. Hearing one of the children crying a domestic servant went out and found the girl on the ground gasping for breath. A tin which had contained a mixture used for poisoning rabbits was close by. The children had found the tin in an old shed and the boy had some of tile poison mixed with earth, which he had been throwing over the face of the girl. The coroner returned a verdict of death by" misadventure, in that the girl had been accidentally poisoned. No blame was attachable to anyone.
The coroner commented on the necessity for keeping such deadly poison beyond the range of little children.
