Prince Kuni, father of the Empress, is critically ill. —Tokyo cable message. Mr J. Branton, of Hamilton, is staying at Cheltenham, Auckland.

Mr E. Buckler, secretary of the Auckland Rowing Association, is in Hamilton for to-morrow’s regatta.

Mr T. T. Hugo, Dominion superintendent of tire brigades, is visiting Auckland.

. The Rev. Lionel Harvie, Vicar of Cambridge, has resumed his duties in the parish, after his annual vacation.

• Messrs Dynes Fulton and R. Fulton left Tuakau to-day on a business trip to Kaitaia, North Auckland. Mr Dynes Fulton will return at the end of the week.

Among the visitors to Hamilton is Mr C. Tonkin, captain of the Tauranga Rowing Club. Mr Tonkin was formerly a resident of Hamilton, and is one of the four life-members of the Hamilton Rowing Club.

The Hon. G. W. Forbes, Minister of Lands, was tendered a banquet at Cheviot on Saturuay evening. The Minister was given a Haltering ovation.

Mr J. Gifford, clerk of court, Tauranga, and secretary of the Tauranga Rowing Club, is in Hamilton for to-morrow’s regatta.

Mr Kenneth Impett, who recently returned from abroad after winning success as a vocalist, is on a motoring tour of New Zealand with h:s father, Mr Walter fmpett, of Auckland.

Messrs *W. H. Laurie, E. Bond (Auckland), R. P. Sherriff (Marton), E. S. Mason (Now Plymouth), E. Mackay (Te Kuiti), D. J. McGowan, S. J. Ncwland and A. E. West (Wellington) were at the Hamilton Hotel during the week-end.

The Rev. T. P. Willason, Superintendent of the Port Adelaide Central Methodist Mission, one of the largest philanthropic organisations in South Australia, arrived at Wellington by the Tahiti to-day. Mr Willason is an old Wellington resident.

Mr G. Cruickshank,' S.M., who has occupied the Magisterial Bench in Invercargill for the past twenty years and who recently announced his retirement, has definitely decided to leave Invercargill on February 20.
