OUR ROADS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —For the past week or so borough. workmen have been patching up and re-surfacing some of our bitumenised streets. I notice in many cases where the roads have only been bitumenised in the centre that along?the line where the two classes of formation meet a big lump occurs, in many cases fom: or five inches high, leaving a channel in between. This is very awkward, for traffic and entails pretty hard wear'pn tyres. The engineering staff requires to go around all the roads and reduce these ridges.—l am, etc., MOTORIST.
