BURGLARS AT ORML

HOUSE RANSACKED. £3 IN CASH TAKEN. (Special to Times-) ORINI, Thursday. “The country is every day becoming more like the town.” So the saying goes; but residents of the country would rather have it otherwise when it is unsafe for the farmer and his wife to go into the sheds to milk without having locked their doors beforehand. The other afternoon two well-known residents went off to milking, leaving all as usual. Much to their astonishment, when they returned, the house had been ransacked. Drawers lay open, cupboard doors were ajar, and though no valuables were stolen, £3 in cash had disappeared. So far no trace of the intruder has been found.
