HOME FOR BOYS.
A NEW DEPARTURE. FREE SECONDARY EDUCATION. (By Telegraph—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND. Thursday.' A beautiful home on • the sunny slopes of Mount Albert awaits 15 fortunate wards of the State, who' have been selected to receive free secondary education. The house, which is of 14 rooms, is surrounded by gardens and orchard, and has a tennis court. For many years it was the home of the late Mr. W. Wlnstone. Boys in State homes throughout the Dominion are selected on the recommendation of the Child Welfare 4 Department officers for admission, good conduct, personality and aptitude for study being qualifications, They attend the technical college or grammar sohool, ahd aro under the supervision of the Y.M.C.A, The home has been purchased by the Government, which will maintain it .with the assistance of the Gostley Homo trustees.
