David Mahovsky was committed for trial orra charge of possessing moulds for florin pieces. The police gave evidence that Mahovsky at first said the moulds were for making crucifix. Later he stated he had intended to make coins hut had not done so.

Detectives who had been investigating the recent appearance in Melbourne of spurious llorins seized what was described as a complete coining plant in a house at Pori. Melbourne. David Mahovsky, described as a Russian, was arrested in bed.
