ATTACK ON A WORKER
OLD MAN ASSAULTED. ASSAILANT ARRESTED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, Jan. 15. The police to-day arrested Charles Rrodie, aged 40, a journeyman baker; on a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm on James Dignam at the Trades Hall yesterday. Dignam positively identified Brouie as the man who kicked him and othc. 1 - wise assaulted him. Accused was brought before the Court and retemaaded. Dignam, who is 64 years old, was seeking work from the Bakers’ Union at the Trades Hall in Sydney when a crowd of unemployed men commenced fighting. Dignam was knocked down and kicked most unmercifully on the head and face. His skull was fractured and his right eve was destroyed.
