A POWERFUL PLANE.
LARGEST IN THE WORLD. CARRY 100 MEN. SPEED OF 125 MILES. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian P.css Association.) LONDON, Jan. 14. The Milan correspondent of the Times says the largest aeroplane in the world is being completed at the Caproni works there for the Italian Army. The machine weighs 13 tons. It is designed to carry a load of the same weight. The plane is equipped with six coupled engines, each of 1000 n p. its speed is 125 miles an hour and us cruising range, 75 hours. The width of the machine from the. tips of the w'ings is 197 ft. Its height is 47ft. and its length, 87ft. It will carry either a load of bombs or 100 men.
The construction of the plane occupied 18 months. Every part was Luilt in the factory at Milan and assembled at Vizzola, near Lake Magfc'iorc, where trials will'be begun when the worst of the winter is over.
