WAIKATO EAST ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL TOURNAMENT. A total of 166 entries was received for the above tournament, held at Matamata, and it was very successful. Beverley beat Misses Stewart (Tirau) and Hueston (Gisborne), 7 —l. Combined Doubles. H. Wood (Auckland) and Miss N. Beverley beat Green and Miss Oates, 9—4. Handicap Finals. Ladies’ Singles.—Miss E. Dobson (T e Whetu (rec. 25) beat Miss M. Beverley (scr.), 40 —36. Men’s Singles. E. Green (owe 5) beat Laurie (rec. 15), 55 —51. Men’s Doubles. —Laurie and Connoly (rec. 15) beat Hollis and Robertson (scr.), 50 —46. Ladies’ Doubles. —Misses N. and M. Beverley (owe 15) beat Misses E. and A. Dobson (rec. 20), 55 —50. TOURNAMENT AT TE AROHA.
The Te Aroha tennis tournament Is being held this week, play being decidedly interesting. Following are the results of early rounds: — Men’s Handicap Singles.
