CHILDREN'S CAMP.
WORK COMMENCES TO-DAY. The first consignment of camp gear for the Waikato Children's Camp at Port Waikato will leave Mercer today. There will be two canvas towns. Nearly three tons of gear have left Hamilton. There will be 60 tents, a general cook-house, and the boys' and girls' camp will be situated within half a mile of each other. A modern cook-house will be erected, and all modern conveniences installed. Nearly 9QO applications have already been received and the final day for receiving applications will be Friday, December 21. All children from Putaruru Kihikihi, Cambridge and Hamilton ' must report at the Hamilton wharf at 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, with their bags properly labelled " 'llunlly district children are to report at the Iluntly wharf at 10 Children who attended the camp last" year must put in .their applications at once. Forms may be obtained from the Mayor's office, Barton and Ross Ltd., and Paul's Book Arcade.
