MAUNGATAUTARI.
The Weather,
After the few weeks of Hot dry weather, the rain, which commenced] to fall on Sunday evening and continued until Tuesday, was very welcome The country was beginning to look dried up, and after last years drought farmers were anxious as to whether another was to be experienced. ~, , , . No doubt this rain will make a big difference to the growth of grass. Rapid growth can be seen in the crops, which were in need of rain, and now with the ground well soaked they should make good headway. Unsettled weather conditions continue and, although good for the country, are not the best for the hay which is down.
