TE KAWA.
Gymnasium Class. Mr Andrews, of Ngahape, has organised a gymnasium class in Te Kawa, and has already had two largelyattended classes of men and boys, to whom be is giving instruction in physical exercises, wrestling, ju-jitsu and gvmnastics. Considerable enthusiasm is" being shown, and it is confidently anticipated that with the promising material Mr Andrews has to work on somS creditable results will be forthcoming. At a ladies' class there was a good assemblage, and it is expected thai this class will grow. School Picnic. The annual school picnic of the Te Kawa school is to be held on the banks of the Waipa River. It is hoped that the weather will be suitable and that there will be a record gathering. Welcome Rain. Welcome soaking rain fell during the week-end, which will be most beneficial to the dry pastures. The harvesting season is in full swing, and great harvests are reported from practically every farm. Ensilage has become a very popular fodder in the district. Bereavement. The sympathy of the district is extended to Mr C. S. Mexted, the death of whose mother was recently reported.
