ANGLICAN CONTROVERSY

CLAUDELANDS MEETING.

STATEMENT BY PEOPLE'S WARDEN WRONG IMPRESSION CREATED. The people's warden of St. Peter's Cathedral Parish has asked us to correct an impression that might be created by certain statements made at the Claudelands meeting on Wednesday evening. These statements, he said, seemed to suggest that the majority of the parishioners who had so far been asked to subscribe to the church funds through the duplex system had refused because they did not like ihe Bishop. The fact is that results so far have been extremely encouraging and that most of the collectors have met with very few refusals. " Probably about one-third of the people have* been called upon so far and dispite the fact that the plate has been abolished at St. Peter's, there has been a substantial increase in collections."
