AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. The following sales took place on the Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday: New Zealand Guarantee Corporation, ordinary, 8s 6d; Auckland Gas, contributing, 17s sd; Northern Steamship, 13s 3d, two sales; Farmers’ Trading Company, 7s 9d. morrinsville stock sale. The Farmers’ Go-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report: At the Morrinsville fortnightly stock sale we had a fair entry of beef cattle and there was a sLight improvement in values. A short market of mutton sold at late quotations. There was a limited number of store cattle, the advertised line of 2 and 24-year steers being keenly competed for. Beef: Medium weight prime steers, £l3 10s to £l3 12s 6d; lighter, £ll to £ll 15s; prime heavy' cows, £lO 8s to £lO 19s; other heavy cows, £9 17s to £lO 4s; medium weights, £8 7s_to £9 15s; plain cows, £6 6s to £7 ss; store steers, 3 and 4 years, £9 ss; good quality 2 to 2J-year steers, Hereford Gross, £8 11s to £8 17s; younger, £7 11s to £8 2s; 2-year Jersey cross steers, £6 8s to £7 15s; extra choice 18-mths Jersey heifers sold to £8 10s; fair, £5 7s to £5 12s; Jersey cross heifers, 12 to 18 months, £4 12s to £4 17s 6d. Dairy cattle: Choice Jersey and Jersey cross cows in milk, £lO to £l3 ss; springing cows, £8 to £9; springing heifers, £7 to £9; bobby calves, best, 12s to 17s; smaller, 8s to 11s. Pigs: Medium baconers, £2 10s to £2 14s; light baconers, and heavy porkers, £2 to £2 6s; light porkers, 32s to 375; slips, 20s to 265; best weaners, 13s to 18s; smaller, 6s to 11s 6d. TE KUITI SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd, Te Kuiti, reports holding its fortnightly sale at Te Kuiti. The Christmas slackening in the yarding was marked, but prices were well maintained. Quotations: Fat hoggets (woolly) 37s 3d, woolly ewes and lambs 44s 2d, fat cows £6 10s to £7 17s, fighter conditioned £4 5s to £6 ss, three-year store bullocks £9 9s, yearling Jersey-cross heifers £6, Shorthorn heifers £4 8s to £4 11s, yearling steers £5 12s 6d, mixed colours £4 5s to £5 ss, two-year Jer-sey-cross bulls £4 17s 6d, Hereford bulls £7. Dairy cows sold well—• Springing heifers £7 5s to £9, cows £l3 5s to £ls. TIRAU SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering : Company, Ltd., report having held their Tirau sale on Thursday, 6tn. instant., when a medium yarding was penned, Beef and store cattle showing an easier tendency. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Ltd., report having held their llikutaia stock sale on Thursday, when a good yarding of beef came forward. Though the demand was good, prices were considerably easier. Pigs: A full yarding, prices showing a decline. Dairy cattle: Small yarding, but still in keen demand. Sheep: Medium yarding, and sold an late rates. Quotations: Heavy fat cows, £lO 12s 6d to £ll ss; medium fat cows, £8 8s to £9 lis; fat heifers, £6 14s to £8 ss; fight fat cows, £7 6s to £7 17s 6d; tillable, £6 10s to £7 Is; forward conditioned cows, £5 5s to £6 ss; store cows, £3 5s to £4 18s; cows with calves £5 to £7 10s; one-year Shorthorn steers, small £4 ss.
