OBITUARY.
MR THOMAS BASSETT. DARGAVILLE, Saturday. The death is announced of Mr Thomas Bassett, aged 72. Deceased was the founder and chairman of the Northern Wairoa Dairy Company for over 25 years, and more recently was managing-director. He had been chairman and a member of the Kaipara Hospital Board since its inception, and at one time was a member of every local body in the district. Born in Ireland in 1856, he came to the district with his parents in 1870, and had lived here ever since. He is survived by a widow and family of two sons and one daughter.
