GIRL GUIDES' CORNER
Dear Guides and Brownies. School holidays are drawing very neap now and your meetings at the end of the week must be very welcome after the days' of exams most of you are having. Has anything definite been arrived at about your camp? RETER PAN. " Moonbeam," Robin Patrol, Matamata, writes. —On Friday night we had our meeting out of doors, because the hall was being used. .After inspection we formed horse-shoe formation and the following girls were presented with badges: Betty Cranswick, second class badge; Cissie Gunn, second and dairymaid badge. After we had been to our "corners," Lieutenant told us that we were to go lor a hike out'to the Okiau Springs next Saturday (to-day). We were ao peased, for they are lovely springs, but although it is a long way, it will seem shorter with a party of us. The Okiau Springs are topping, aren't they, Moonbeam? And what a day you must have had! A crowd hiking together is very different from, a lone walk, isn't it?—Peter Pan.
Dorothea de Montalk, First Frankton Brownie Pack, writes—How the column has grown! Not long ago it was a baby. Brown Owl is teaching us some songs. There is to be an enrolment on Thursday. Won't it be nice when we rae all in uniform? We had a Utile concert last week. Every Thursday we bring buttercups to decorate our corners with. What songs does "Brown Owl teach vou, Dorothea? We hop* that the enrolment was satisfactory. It was jolly fun decorating your corners, and how pretty they must look witU the buttercups !—Peter Pan. Peggy Kennedy, First Franton Company, writes.—We start guides now at half-past two on Saturdays. After we had corners we had inspection and then we had horse-shoe formation. Last week we had a game which each patrol had to draw something to represent one of the ten guide laws Then we were shown how to make a tent for camp. It was the Poppy Patrol's turn on Saturday to go to the hospital and see Miss Murray, our lieutenant. How is your lieutenant progressing Peggy? The Circle sends" every wish> for a speedy recovery.—Peter Pan. <
