MORRINSVILLE CLUB. THE ANNUAL MEETING. At the postponed annual meeting of the Morrinsville Tennis Club Mr J. Wyatt presided. The balance-sheet showed a profit ol £l3 after spending £3O on re-surfacing the courts and £SO in reducing the bank overdraft. Several resignations were accepted with regret, and new members were elected. The following officers were appointed: —president, Rev. F. W. Wilkes; vice-presidents, Messrs W. C. Cargill abd C. F. O'Connor; treasurer, Mr E. A. Crabtree; auditor, Mr C. H. McKay; committee, Misses Grimwado and Lowry, Messrs Forstcr, Cottingham and Anderson; tea lady, Miss Lowry. The question of which association the club should affiliate with was left to the incoming committee. The opening day was fixed for October 27. A dance will follow in the evening. It was resolved that the incoming committee be asked to give some attention to sand courts. KEREONE CLUB. OPENING OF THE SEASON. The day. being beautifully fine there was a large attendance of members and visitors from surrounding districts at the opening of the Kereone Tennis Club's courts. The president, Mr W. E. Watts, in declaring the courts open, congratulated the club on the fact that last season concluded free of debt, notwithstanding the heavy expenditure in preparing the courts, and with fifty financial members. The lady members of the club served an excellent afternoon tea. A great improvement has been made in the courts since last season in a particularly nice pavilion. This fine structure has ample room for spectators and the serving of tea, also a cloak-room for ladies. It has been erected at the low cost of £4'7. As last year two courts were found insufficient for the large number of players the club has decided to put down a third court.
