FAILED TO GIVE WAY.

GREY STREET COLLISION. A FINE OF 40S. A collision in Grey Street between cars driven by James Rutherford Elliot and A. H. Thompson, of Gordonton, led to the former being charged with failing to give way to a vehicle on the right, at the Hamilton Court, to-day. Senior Sergeant Sweeney said the case arose out of a collision at the intersection of Grey and O'Neil Streets. Considerable damage was done to both cars. Mr J. F. Strang, on behalf of accused, pleaded guilty. A fine of 40s, with costs was imposed. William Henry Tombs pleaded guilty to a similar offence when his car collided with one driven by Archibald Jones. He was fined 20s, with costs.
