FAREWELL. AT RUKUHIA. PRESENTATIONS TO RESIDENTS. At the Rukuhia Hail the residents attended in good force to bid good-bye to Mr and Mrs Cresswell and family. Mr Gorrie presided. Mr Gorrie spoke at length of the high esteem in which Mr and Mrs Cresswell had been held during their stay of Ave years in Rukuhia, and in presenting Mrs Cresswell with an oak and silver tray and silver cake-basket and Mr Cresswell with a well-lined wallet, he wished them the best of good things in their new home. Mr Cresswell suitably replied. Master Penniket presented Mrs Cresswell with a lovely bouquet of golden daffodils and violets. Jessie Cresswell was presented with a box of chocolates frorn her school friends. The rest of the afternoon was spent in songs by the children, trained by Mrs Gorrie, and recitations. A sumptuous afternoon tea was served, and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought to a close a very pleasant gathering. Mr Cresswell had been manager of the Rukuhia cheese factory for Ave years, and has been transferred to Eureka, which position he has alreadytaken up. MORRINSVILLE GATHERING. MRS MoDAVITT’S FAREWELL. Mrs C. McDavitt, who with her family is leaving Morrinsville to reside in Auckland, has been tendered several farewell parties before leaving. On Tuesday afternoon the members of the Golf Club, at the residence of Mrs E. Seville, met Mrs McDavitt and presented her with a beautiful cup and saucer as a small token of friendship. Among those present were Mesdames E. Seville, Ryan, Seifert, Mueller, Jackson, Allwood, 11. Howie, NHowie, Needham, Annesley-Smith, F. Ellis, Bain, Misses G. Mueller and F.. Hewitt.

In the evening a farewell bridge party was given by Mrs F. Marshall at her residence to farewell Mrs McDavitt. Mrs Marshall received her guests in a rose crepe de chine frock, prettily embroidered. Mrs McDavitt wore a dress of turquoise blue velvet and georgette. The first prize was won by Mrs McDavitt, the secret number prize by Mrs Needham, and the consolation by Mrs C. McKay. Among those present were Mesdames J. McKay, Needham, E. /Jackson, F. Ellis, A. Bell, Boles, C. McKay, Mueller, J. Cottingham, Seifert, AnnesleySmith; Misses Hanan, T. Hewitt, L. Lloyd and F. Hewitt.
