SLEPT AT STATION.

WORKLESS MAN CHARGED. GIVEN A CHANCE. While walking around the Hamilton railway station about 4 o’clock this morning Constable Brown encountered a middle-aged man named James Joseph Connor, who was charged at the Magistrate’s Court to-day, with being at the station without any lawful excuse. He pleaded guilty. Accused told Mr S. L. Patterson, S.M., who was on Lhc Bench, that he had just completed seven days’ imprisonment, and was unable to obtain work anywhere. * His Worship agreed to give Connor a chance to get work in the country. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon.
