I lie 3 3 \etrol “ Cheap” in motor spirit, as in other things, is very deceiving. There is trouble in store for the unwary petrol buyer. It is a poor bargain when a penny or two is saved in the petrol bill only to produce pounds and pounds in the repair bill. Cheap, impure, badly refined grades of motor spirit may make the engine run, but, unknown to the motorist, havocisbeingcaused to. the vitals of his car. Sulphur and other impurities are present in badly refined petrols. They are a hidden menace, and you may not be aware of them until metal parts of your engine, such as carburettor and vacuum tank floats, jets and petrol leads are pitted and eaten away—tell-tale signs of the damage that is being done. Crankcase dilution is another “cheap" petrol trouble. Inferior quality motor spirit will not properly vaporise. Some of this unvaporised fuel is lost' through the exhaust—a sheer waste ; some causes carbon on the piston heads ; some descends into the crankcase and destroys the lubricating value of the oil—the lifeblood of your engine. Metal to metal contact of the moving parts takes place, friction does its deadly work, and all too soon, the fine mechanical trim of your engine breaks down and repair expenses pile up. Impurities and crankcase dilution! Avoid them for your engine’s sake and for your pocket s sake. Buy a petrol free from impurities, correctly refined and highly volatile. Such a motor spirit is Plume. Plume Motor Spirit enjoys the confidence of discriminating motorists throughout the Dominion. It ensures * the utmost pleasure and power from your motor car. It protects the mechanical integrity of your engine. Buy wisely and maintain the habit of filling at the Plume pump. Don’t abuse your car with so-called “cheap” motor spirit. It pays to use Plume, d 1 t&L 'JJ NS .■V, VACUUM OIL COMPANY, L TD
