BALL AT TATUANUI.

Although the Tatuanui Hall had been recently enlarged, it was not large enough to hold the record gathering that assembled for the Masquerade Ball held in it on Tuesday evening. In addition to the GO couples of dancers, there was a large attendance of spectators, and the Tatuanui Hall Committee are to be congratulated upon the excellent arrangements made, and for the manner in which they were all carried out. Visitors were present from Morrinsville and all the surrounding districts. The sum of £3O was taken at the door. The hall was decorated with greenery and streamers, and many of the dancers were in fancy dress and masked, which added to the gaiety of the scene. During the evening paper caps were distributed and showers of confetti added a spirit of carnival to the scene. The Melody Boys Orchestra provided excellent music and were most generous with encores. Extras were played by Miss Z. Howarth, and an excellent supper was served in the supper room. The duties of M.C. were performed by Messrs A. Wratl, and C. Cooper. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Chaffings and Mr Lcece, and the lucky spot by Miss '/.. Howarth and partner. The prizewinners for fancy dresses wore Miss Ebbit (Pierrette) and Mr E. Chinncry (Creek).
