LAMBING IN WAIKATO.

A FAVOURABLE SEASON. LOSS PERCENTAGE SMALL. The present season in Waikato has been very favourable to lambing, and percentage of mortality so far has been very low. The dry weather, with somewhat warm days, has enabled the lambs to get well on their feet and thus to have the advantage of a good start. The conditions most detrimental .to lambing are those of rainy days with low temperature, which do not give the youngsters a chance during the first few days of life, which are the most important. At the Ruakura State Farm fully two thirds of the lambing is over, with •very few losses. Similar conditions prevail through most parts of South Auckland.
