Nowadays mere man is seldom embarrassed by finding himself supplied in excess of his proper ration of female companionship, but it is certainly a brave show to invite 450 women guests to spend the day with one, ending up at the Coliseum (writes a London paper.) This, however, is precisely what Capt. W. Brass, the cheery Conservative M.P. for Glitheroe, has done, and the great event takes place to-day. Ilis party consists mainly of mill hands from his constituency, who travelled through the night to reach London, where they will be met at the station by their host early this morning, returning to Lancashire by the night train this evening. 1 should have liked very much to have been present at the box-office when “the honourable and gallant gentleman” walked .in and asked for 450 seats.
