BOWLERS ENTERTAINED.

ENJOYABLE EVENING. The Whitiora bowlers entertained their friends to a flag bridge evening on Wednesday night. The pavallion wsa gaily decorated with flags, balloons, greenery and streamers, the whole making a very’ preity effect. Mesdames A. Downes and Theo. Mitchell were the hostesses for ihe evening and soon had everyone at home. Gay good humour jirevailcd throughout the evening, each player bringing home the flags being hailed with delight. The coveted prizes were won by Mesdames Nealie and 'Scott and Mr Somervell. When presenting the trophies Mr Mitchell thanked the ladies who had helped the bowlers, especially the undefatiguable secretary of the Whitiora Croquet Club, Mrs W. Andrew's, who had at all times given generously of her help. A dainty supper brought to a close a very pleasant evening. Those present were Mrs A. Dowmes, in red panne velvet and georgette; Mrs Theo Mitchell, flower georgette and cream lace; Mesdames .T. R. Scott, Nealie, Somervell, Cracknell, Webster, Relgrave, Pemberton, Pilkington, Michcll, Martin, Douglas (Tatanui), Burrows, Fenwick, Henderson, Hodgkinson, Bennett, Pemberthv, Buckland, Howe, D. Andrews, Ritchie, O’Brien, Drube, Williams, F. Booth, Brcwar, Misses Hobbs, Ferguson, McLoghry.
