BADLY TREATED.
HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL,
ACCOMMODATION FOR BOARDERS.
POSITION BECOMES ACUTE. "Boys who otherwise would come to Hamilton are going to Waitaki and Wanganui because we have not the accommodation available for boarders, remarked Mr E. Wilson, principal, at a meeting of the Hamilton High School Board of Governors yesterday. The speaker added that about 30 boys were at present boarded out privately. Had the school the necessary accommodation he felt sure they would have 80 or 100 country boys in residence here. It was mentioned that the position was . acute for both boys and girls. The Abbotsford hostel for girls was full and further buildings were urgently necessary. At previous meetings repealed reference had been made to the unfairness with which Hamilton has been treated by the Department compared with the 'treatment of other towns. While many thousands of pounds have been granted for hostel accommodation to other High School Boards, Hamilton has received nothing. A committee is to wait on the Minister with regard to the matter.
