HEUGHAN SINGS TO-NIGHT. The well-known actor-singer, who proved an outstanding succession his last, visit to New Zealand, sings tonight. at the Theatre Royal. All who had the pleasure of hearing him on the occasion of his previous visit know what a pleasure is in store. Heughan audiences are always the reripients of a rare and inspiring artistry. Besides the vocal and histrionic brilliance of this singer, his sincerity is moving; and while his repertoire is huge and of impressive breadth, there is that in his authoritative interpretation of the soul of the British race, as found in his arresting explorations of tlie folk-music of Scotland, England. Ireland. Wales and Ihc Dominions, which adds lo his worth. On this occasion he will he assisted by Maud Beil, the distinguished English ’cellist, who lias appeared with success in London and the principal cities in Europe: and by Gladys Sayer, famous pianistc and accompanist, who was associated with Heughan on his last lour. STRAND AND FRANKTON THEATRES Clyde Cook and William Demarest, the comedy learn who furnished many a laugh in "Simple Sis,” are doing the same in “The Bush Leaguer,” Monte Blue’s latest. Monte Blue portrays a bespectacled young inventor, who so suddenly finds himself in professional baseball that he can hardly take it seriously. Demarest appears as the hard-boiled manager of the team, who despairs of ever making a ball player out of "that big hick.” On the same programme Norman Kerry and Lois Moran arc featured in “The Irresistible Lover."
