PLUNKET SOCIETY.
BRANCH FORMED AT TIRAU. Three ladies of the Matamata Plunket Society visited Tirau on Friday afternoon to attend a meeting convened by Mrs F. Rose. Mrs Gordon, president of the Matamala branch, appealed to all those present, to form a branch under the present headquarters in Matamata. The Matamata society has been working succssfully for a number of years. Its present rooms are rented, and it is the aim of the branch to raise sufficient funds to erect rooms of its own. The meeting was very well attended, and it was decided to form a branch as suggested by Mrs Gordon. Mrs F. Rose was elected president and Mrs Alfred Tot-man vice-president. The following ladles who were present agreed to act as a committee and to do their utmost to help the Matamata branch with their good work: Mesdames W. Main, T. Little, J. Corcoran, R. Lctchfield, McCambridge, Hirst, \V. F. S. Goodwin, G. Scion, Macky, 11. Main, W. Allen (jun.), R. Pcvercal, and Geo. Wilson. The president, Mrs Rose, thanked the three ladies from Matamata, Mesdames Gordon, Barry and Stewart, for their attendance. Afternoon tea was supplied by Mrs Rose. A very enthusiastic meeting closed with three hearty cheers for the hostess.
