SKILFUL DRESSING.
Slim ankles are greatly to be desired, but, unfortunately, they arc not possessed by every woman. Much can be done by massage by an expert, and by exercises, to reduce the size of the ankles, but these means are not available for everyone afflicted with thick ankles. Everyone can, however, dress to conceal the. defects as much as possible. A very short, tight skirt, high-heeled shoes in a bright colour such as red, blue or green, or even a bright tan, and fleshcoloured silk stockings all accentuate the defect. Skirts should he worn as long as is compatible wilh fashion, and fairly full. The evening and afternoon dress fashions which allow uneven hems, falling draperies and sashes, and skirts which dip in one place more than in another should be followed whenever possible. Grey or mole shoes or stockings, which harmonise well with the colour of the pavements, make legs and ankles look slimmer than they are.
