CHECK ON HAWKERS.
MO LICENSE OBTAINED. CONVICTED AND DISCHARGED. In the Hamilton Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr F. W. Plat/is, S.M., R. Todd was convicted and discharged on a charge of plying as a hawker In the Waipa County without the necessary license. Mr Swarbnick explained that defendant was the agent of a Hamilton firm, and was selling cordials in the country without a license. lie was satisfied that this was done in ignorliyje, .as no fee. was charged for a the object being to keep a chfc.k on hawkers, to make sure that, no undesirables came into the county to annoy farm folk.
