Sir, —If your report of the Hospital Board proceedings is correct, Dr. Gower, medical superintendent is not sure whether the removal of tonsils is a major or a minor operation. I do not lay claim to any special knowledge of surgery, but I do know that a child of mine had her tonsils removed one afternoon and she was quite well again after her night’s sleep. It certainly did not impress me as a major operation.—l am, etc.,
