DOMAIN IMPROVEMENTS.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—Our Domain Board seems t® be wakening up at last. Improvements are taking place at the Lake, where the removal of the rushers along the waterfront has given the beach quite a clean, fresh look. I read also that dogs are to be prohibited from entering the ■ water at the bathing plaees. This is a good thing, as the mixed bathing of , dogs and humans is neither ‘ pleasant ] nor, should I say, altogether healthy. I see also that an effort is being mad® I to suppress larrikinism at the Domain. J I sincerely hope and trust that the! effort is successful. It is most un-j pleasant for ladies to have to run gauntlet of a lot of jeering youths, or to be compelled to pass under their inspection as they stand and gape over the fence that divides the men’s frotn the women’s bathing sheds. It is just, about time, too, that the board installed gas-rings, as I see they are doing, for the convenience of picnickers. To have to pay 2d for a pint of hot water is, I think, an Imposition that should not be permitted. It costs a large family, who picnics at the Lake for a day,, quite a tidy sum for hot water pur-1 chased in this way. I trust that novw the board has wakened up it will keep awake.—l am, etc.,
