VICTORIA STREET CROSSING. REPAIR WORK AUTHORISED The borough engineer (Mr R. Worley), reported to the Hamilton Borough Council last night that he had been endeavouring to get the Railways Department .to lay down Victoria Street railway crossing with asphalt, as it was partly taken up on one side and very lumpy on the other. The district engineer had now informed him that owing to the lack of funds he was unable to have the work carried out. Cr. Tidd said the state of the crossing was very bad. It was "painful." Cr. Lafferty suggested that the engineer be instructed to remedy the crossing conditions by having the road attended to at that point, and a resolution was carried on Ihose lines.
