WOOL FOR RUSSIA.

PURCHASES IN AUSTRALIA. LARGE CONSIGNMENTS SECURED. NEW ZEALAND TO BE VISITED. (United Press Association.) (Received Nov. 5, 9.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 5. Representatives of the Textile Import Co., of Mascow continue to buy wool largely in Sydney and the other capital cities for Russia. Since the opening of the wool season in August they have purchased 77,000 bales valued at £BIO,OOO. They had previously purchased £500,000 worth. The company’s buying staff in the Commonwealth number 22, of whom only six are Russians and the rest Australians, including a number of specially-trained wool classers.

In addition to buying the company is largely interested in scouring gieusy wool. it intends to extend its operations to New Zealand, which it proposes 1o do at the start through some English buyers with a resident representative to'look after the business and_ shipping the wool to Europe. The Cabinet considered a number of applications.
