PECULIAR RESULT OF VOTING. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. At the annual meeting of Combined Buyers, Limited, the chairman, Mr G. A. Wallis, announced that the directors considered that the press should not be admitted. To tliis a stout opposition was offered by a number of shareholders, who asked if there was anything to hide, and claimed that there was dissatisfaction with the conduct of the company’s affairs. On a vote the proposal was rejected by a large majority, whereupon the chairman demanded a poll. This was taken, and lie announced the motion carried, hut refused to give figures,, which elicited sarcastic remarks. The press I lien withdrew’.
