QUAKE IN JAPAN.
WIDE AREA SHAKEN. FEW CASUALTIES REPORTED. COMMUNICATION INTERRUPTED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received October 29, 11.15 a.m.) TOKIO, October 2S. The earthquake recently reported covered a considerable area of the west coast, but caused only a few casualties. Communications are interrupted. 1 Reports vary regarding the intensity of the earthquake, some asserting that its violence equalled that of 1923. Tokio and the larger towns to the north-west were not affected.
