WESTRALIAN DEVELOPMENT. SPLENDID CROPS PROMISED. 1 MUCH LAND SELECTED. (Received Oct. 5, 11.30 a.m.) PERTH, Oct. 5. The Minister of Lands (Hon. Troy) states that 'he expects a harvest of 35,000,000 bushels, which is nearly 5.000,000 in excess of that of last year. He says prospects were never brighter. The season has been marked by excellent rainfall all over the State. The progress of land settlement and development is evidenced by the fact that an additional 1,277,000 acres of conditional purchase land has been taken up this year, and the selection e£ 10,000,000 acres of pastoral country Itas been approved.
