General Jose Ilvares, Chief of Staff for President Galles, has announced that General Francisco Serrano, the alleged co-leader of the military revolt, was executed with 14 of his followers near Guenavaca on Monday morning. President Galles has issued a statement admitting the extent of the revolt but claiming that the Government was forewarned and had the situation well in hand. NEW YORK, October 4. Delayed messages from Mexico City indicate that a censorship is in operation and communications disorganised. It is generally believed the revolt was more extensive that has yet been, officially reported as various despatches are conflicting in their accounts. VANCOUVER, October 4. The followers of General Serrano • who were executed were all prominent politically. Lieutenant-Colonel Manganilla, chief of the sixteenth battalion of the Torreon Garrison together with his staff officers were also executed. The situation in that region is now quiet and all the troops have been disarmed.
