REV. SALE-HARRISON’S LECTURE. CONTEMPORANEOUS EVENTS. The Rev. Sale-Harrison gave his final lecture in the Baptist Church last night under the auspices of the New Zealand Bible League. There was a large attendance for the final service, which was deeply impressed with the remarkable exposition of the Bible in reference to present-day happenings. He showed that in the latter days, that is, tlie days in which we live, God prophesied some of the most remarkable events the world has ever seen. Amongst these'were the return of the Jews to their own land; the approaching great confederacy of the North; the resurrection of the old Roman Empire; the political, religious and industrial amalgamations of the world; the increasing rule of democracy and the great and rapid increase of apostacy from the faith, »which includes the rapid advance made by modernistic preachers in their attitude towards the Bible. These the lecturer proved to be some of the conditions of the days in which we live, and to realise that all these were happening contemporaneously was surely sufficient convincing evidence that the Bible was the Word of God. The Scriptures quoled were from many parts of the Old Testament as well as the New, and any unbiassed mind could not fail to be convinced that no one but God could prophesy thousands of years before the possible fulfilment of such remarkable events. The opinion of those present was one of great appreciation for the series of lectures thus concluded. Adjutant Gill Inglis presided.
