THE RAGLAN SEAT.
A REPORT DENIED. [¥lß STEWART REiD’S INTENTIONS. WILL CONTEST WAIKATO. (Special Parliamentary Reporter.) PRESS GALLERY. Tuesday. The allocation of Reform candidates for Waikato and Raglan constituencies for the general election next year has not only not been finalised hut the arrangement as announced by Mr. J. S. Fisher, president of the Waikato Reform League last week, is denied by one of the principals concerned, namely Mr. D. Stewart Reid, member for Waikato in the present House. Mr. Fisher said it had been decided that Air. Reid would be nominated for Raglan and Mr. A. M. Samuel (whose constituency of Ohinemuri disappears under the changes in the electoral boundaries) would be the party s candidate for Waikato. “This announcement was not authorised by me,” said- Air. Reid to-night, “and as I previously intimated, it is my intention to stand for the Waikato Elecotrate at the elections next year.” Mr. Samuel was not in the House to-night, but when the new electorate boundaries were gazetted he announced that he intended to offer his services to the new Hauraki -Electorate.
