• 4 SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. So successful was the first dance held of the staff of the New Zealand Dairy Company on Thursday evening in
St. Peter’s Hall, that it is hoped to make the function an annual affair. The hall was artistically arranged with brightly-coloured streamers, while suspended from the centre of the room, were two elaborate paper lampshades, toning with 1 lie rest of the decorations. Hildreth’s orchestra was responsible for the excellent music provided, and a dainty supper was served. Dancing continued until an early hour of the morning. The hostesses were Medames ITemus, wearing a pretty frock of henna georgette and gold; Parlane, in blue georgette, relieved with fawn; and Tyne, in a peacock blue and silver frock. Among the others present I noticed: Mesdames Sterling, cherry georgette, beaded with crystal; Tappcnden, cloth of gold; Fisher, mauve and silver; Hildreth, green crepe dc chine, black shawl; Bateman, green charmeuse, touches of lemon; Davidson, green crepe de chine: Marlin, violet charmeuse; Short, black and gold; Oxenham, black and silver lace; Misses Ilayson, black panne velvet; M. Innes, apricot crepe de chine; V. Brayshaw, scalloped taffeta: • Taltley, gold shot j taffeta; Hooper, black georgette; Jenkins, cyclamen and silver; Garrick, blue taffeta; Edwards, blue beaded georgette; Lake, floral georgette; Murry, pink crepe de chine; White, black panne; Smythe, blue petailed georgette; A. Bliss, shell pink taffeta; Pratt, scarlet velvet; E. Bliss, peach crepe de chine, N. Cunnold, violet shot taffeta; P. Bullock, apricot taffeta; D. Clegg, tangerine georgette; M.
