PROPOSED CONFERENCE. WELLINGTON, Thursday. Having heard evidence from representatives of tlie employers and. employees the'Labour Bills Committee, which considered Mr J. McCombs’ Daylight Baking Bill, recommended to the House to-day that during the recess the Minister of Labour should summon a conference of master bakers and their employees with a view to arranging if possible a means of giving effect to the proposals for daylight baking, adopted at the International Labour Conference in Geneva in 1925 Accordingly, the committee recommended that Mr McCombs’ bill bo not allowed to proceed.
