PUTARURU GLEE CLUB.
LIBRARY COMMITTEE. A meeting of the library committee of the Glee Club was attended by the following ladies: —Mcsdumes Coupe, liaise, Alcorn, Scott, Ward, Begbie, Nicklin, Phillips, Spear, Edmonds, Fitzherbert, Snell, Misses Strugncll and Alcorn. Apologies were offered for Mesdames Yandic, Barr Brown, Cannon, and Campbell. Miss Slrugnell was elected to the chair. Mcsdames Swass, Reid, Tulloch, and Edmonds were elected members of the Glee Club and Mrs Edmonds a member of the ‘library committee. A letter w r as read from Mr Coupe, of the T.T.T. Company, stating that they would donate the sum equivalent to the cost of timber l'or shelving the library. —Received with thanks. A report was received from Miss Strugnell and Mrs Snell, upon hearing which it was decided not to make further offer l'or the Matamata library. The financial report of the library dance was submitted and adopted, showing the nett cash proceeds to he £lO ss, and over 300 used books, many of which were quite new and in good editions;
The following ladies were elected lo the library committee: Miss Strugnoll, Mrs Spear, Mrs \Scolt, Mrs Ward, Mrs Begbie, Mrs Edmonds, Mrs Snell, Mrs Eitzhcrbcrt, Mrs Alcorn, Mrs liaise, and Mrs Barr-Brown, the secretary to this committee to be Mrs Edmonds (unanimously elected with applause) and the treasurer. Miss Strugncll. A selection committee was also elected, consisting of Mrs Alcorn, Mrs, Ward', Miss Strugnell, Mrs liaise, Mrs Scott,- and Mrs Edmonds. The matter of the Salvation ,/Army Boys’ Christmas Fund was carefully gone into, and it was thought that a garden fete would be a somewhat hazardous affair to arrange so early in the summer on account of the weather, and after considerable discussion and consideration it \vas decided to raise the money required for this fund by j selling Christmas gift tickets at :1s j each through the school and otherwise.
