The order of business for the House of Representatives Ibis week was outlined by the Prime Minister (Right lion. J. Cl. Coates) in the Iloijse of Representatives yesterday in answer to a question by the Leader of the Opposition (Mr 11. E. Holland). Mr Coates stated that to-day and to-morrow private members’ business would be taken. The Ministerial replies to questions would he available for this afternoon. If the private members’ Bills were disposed off Uio House would proceed io the order of business shown on the Order Paper., It was proposed lo take the debate on the Financial Statement on Friday night. RAILWAY DISMISSALS. A RETURN SOUGHT. (Special Parliamentary Reporter.) PRESS GALLERY, Tuesday. A return relating to railway workshops has been called for in the House of Representatives by the Leader of the Opposition (Mr 11. E. Holland), who wauls to know: (1) Tho number of railway boilers imported from Britain and America during the two years ended June 30, 1927; and (2) ihe number of casual and permanent employees put off from railway workshops during that period. vAYn? - >■- WORKERS' HOUSES. USE OF FOREIGN TIMBERS. (Special Parliamentary Reporter.) ■ PRESS GALLERY, Tuesday. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr 11. E. Holland) asked the Prime Minister whether lie was aware that American redwood weather hoarding was being used in the construction of workers’ houses at Lower Ilutt, and if he considers it fair to the timber workers of the Dominion, who were being thrown out of work as tho result of the mills closing down through the want of a market for the locally produced timber.
