Ratepayers’ Association. A meeting of the Ratepayers’ Association was held on April 12. Air F. E. Harris presided. Air P. Alclrose, secretary, reported that he has communicated with the clerk of the Piako County Council concerning the ' various questions discussed at last meeting. The completion of Hutchinson’s road metalling was being held up owing to the Government subsidy not being available. r l’ho owner of the timber lorry at Waharoa had agreed to pay 6d per 100 ft for extraordinary damage. Given’s proposed new road was being investigated, and the main road through the
Wairere Soldiers’ Settlement was also under consideration.
It was decided to write to the local stationmaster re railway matters. Air Moroney reported re bookcase for library that three tenders had been received'. Mr Adams’ tender of £7 was accepted.
