WAIKATO ASSOCIATION.

There was a good attendance of delegates at the annual general meeting of the above association, which was held last evening in the Y.M.C.A. Buildings. The president, Mr L, Jackson, presided. The annual report, which has already been published, was adopted. Satisfaction was expressed by members present on the good position of the association, which was due mainly to the visit of. the Indian Army team. The balance-sheet showed receipts amounting to £432, while the expenses totalled £302 16s sd, leaving a credit balance of £l3O Os 3d. The balance of assets over liabilities totalled £l6l 16s 2d. Officers. Patron, D. Stewart Reid, Esq-, M.P.; president, L. Jackson, Esq. (reelected) ; vice-president, Ili.s Lordship Bishop Cherrington, Messrs Tv. P, Eade and Sexton; ex-co.mmittec, two delegates from each club; secretary, Mr R. Conradi (re-elected); assistant-secre-tary, Mr R. Allen; treasurer, Mr Velvin (re-elected); delegate to N.Z.H.A., Mr I. Gunn (Christchurch) ; auditor, Mr N. Ross (re-elected). General. The present prospects for the season arc bright, there being five senior and five junior teams, with a prospect of another senior team. Entries for both senior and junior competitions close April 30lh. It was decided to set aside the sum of £75 in the P. 0.5.8., to be held in trust for the purpose of providing guarantees in the event of further overseas games. The sum of £4O was set aside for the purpose of assisting the introduction of the game into the primary schools, under the jurisdiction of the Waikato Hockey Association. The meeting placed on record its keen appreciation of the excellent work done by. the president during the past season. The, sum of £5 5s was voted to the secretary in recognition of his services to the association. The thanks of the association were tendered to all those who had assisted in the conduct of the game in the past season. . . . Teams were granted permission to arrange practice games. I’he meeting expressed its appreciation of the support accorded the game by the Waikato Times, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed. «
