MISS BETTY THOMAS.
FUNCTION AT HOTEL METROPOLIS

No bride of noble birth was evei*” the heroine of a more glittering wed* ding than Miss Peggy Thomas, the daughter of Hon. J. If. Thomas, win? married Mr. Reginald Harris, at the City Temple. The wedding was followed by reception at the Hotel Metropole. I Mr. Baldwin, Mr.' Lloyd George,; Lady Astor and Countess Asquith attended. Thousands of the public who assembled outside necessitated police intervention to enable the top-hatted, men and fashionable women to struggle through the crowds into the church. Mr. Thomis w-as resplendent in al frock coat and top hat.
Replying to Hon. A. HendersoiPs congratulations at the reception, Me. Thomas said: “I’ll be amused tomorrow’ to find myself photographed in the Capitalist Press and accused of supporting capitalism as portrayed by the Hotel Metropole. I’m trying to do the right tiling and disregard class hatred. Brains arc not monopolised by one class, and I respect them from whatever class they come.”
