WAIKATO CHAMPIONSHIPS. PLAY ON HAMILTON COURTS. DRAW FOR FIRST ROUND, Good entries have been received for the Waikato Tennis Association’s annual tournament, which will take place on the Hamilton courts during Easter. Most of the competitors are from the Waikato district, but Auckland is well represented, and there are several players from the South, including one from Masterton and one from Nelson. GAMES AT TE KAWA. The tennis match played on the Central courts on Saturday between Te Kawa Central and Te Kawa West, resulted in a win for the former Club by 58 points to 56. Some good form was displayed and a brilliant display by Messrs Darker, and J. McGowan was loudly applauded by the spectators. • Lunch and afternoon tea were provided and served by several ladies of Te Kawa Central.

Following were the resulLs of the matches, Te Kawa West players being mentioned first:— Combined Doubles. —I-larker and Mrs Ashton beat McGowan and Mrs Scholes; Mrs Mexted and Burton lost to Miss McGowan and Wilson; Miss Burton and Mexted lost to Mrs Wilson and McGowan; Miss Westbrook and Ashton beat Miss Ticklepenny and Grant.

Men’s Singles.—Darker beat J. McGogan; Burton lost to Wilson; Ashton lost to Grant; Mexted beat McGowan. Ladies Singles.—Mrs Ashton lost to Mrs Scholes; Mrs Mexted lost to Miss McGowan; Miss Burton beat Mrs Wilson; Miss Westbrook beat Miss Ticklepenny.
