THE HAMILTON UNION.

ANNUAL MEETING TO-NIGHT,

The annual meeting of the Hamilton Rugby Union will be held in the Savoy Dining Rooms this evening at .8 o’clock. As there arc many matters of importance to come up for discussion a full attendance of delegates is expected.

WAIPA UNION. The first meeting of the recently elected management committee of the Waipa Rugby Union was held on Monday evening, when there were present Messrs. F. Quin (chairman), B. B. Melrose, W. Whitton, G. Reynolds, H. T. Haselden, E. T. Crump, W. McCarthy, w. Cavanagh and M. W. Winter,''secretary. It was decided to commence senior games at 2.30 p.m. and junior at 1.30 p.m. during the first round of the competitions. The Te Awamutu Club was granted leave to play the Hula Football Club from Otorohanga It was decided to commence the senior competition on the 23rd' instant, and the junior on the 30th.

Two delegates, Messrs. Quin and Whitton, were appointed to act as an inspection committee for the football grounds. The night for the weekly meeting of the management committee was fixed for Monday evening.

It was decided to play two rounds in each competition and at the end of the first round the management committee is to decide as to advisability of continuing for an extra round. Nominations were called for junior, third and fourth grade teams in the Waipa Rugby Union’s competitions. The secretary was granted £2 2s for incidental expenses. Messrs. Quin, Reese and Winter were authorised to operate on the bank account. The draw for the senior competition was made and will be publishd at a later date.

MORRINSVILLE UNION. The annual meeting of Morrlnsville Rugby Union was held on Saturday, when there was a large attendance, the following delegates being present: — Mr W. Hogg (president of the Morrinsville club), presiding, Messrs .T. Pihhit, D. Ganley (Kereone), N. Day, C. Sing and J. Hart (Taluanui), F. G. Cowan, It. H. Haycock, and It. T. Allen (United), W. Howard, J. Lynch, and M. McLean (Waitoa), D. It. F. Campbell, E. Bodmin, and G. Mclntyre (Terriers), W. Ilardley (Tahuna), life-member B. Chapman, Mr G. M. McDavitt (president of the New Zealand Itugby Union) was also present. The annual report staled: —The season was a most successful one, both from a financial and playing point of view, and the prospects for the future are promising. The players are to be congratulated on the spirit in which they played, there being only one occasion on which a player had to come before the union. The thanks and appreciation of the union are due to all those who gave their services as referees, and to all who assisted the union in various ways, especially to Mr W. Dench for acting as honorary groundsman. The union’s finances are in a satisfactory condition, there being a balance to the general fund of £44 5s 9d, subject to a payment to the Borough Council of gate percentage, and a balance to the insurance fund of £B7.

The report was adopted. The balance-sheet showed receipts £165 19s 3d, expenditure £124 4s Bd, leaving a balance of £44 10s 9d. The election of Officers resulted:— Patron, Mr J. B. Thomas; president, Mr W. Hogg; vice-presidents, Mr J Hart and Mrs Marshall; secretary, Mr G. H. Mclntyre; treasurer, Mr J. Ford; auditor, Mr D. Mulcahy; management committee, Messrs D. It. F. Campbell, N. Day, F. G. Cowan, W. Howard, C. Sing, J. Pirrit, W. Ilogg; appeal committee, Messrs W. Cargill, F. Pickett, and A. Needham; senior selector, Mr G. H. Mclntyre; junior selector, Mr F. C. Cowan; classification committee, Messrs McDavitt, Ilogg, and Ford.
