THE NORTHUMBERLAND.

PROSPECTS OF REFLOATING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Saturday. The Northumberland is reported to be floating in a much improved position. The list to port has been eliminated and the how is further out of the water than at any time since the vessel entered the roadstead. The improvement is due to the success in patching the hull and the steady continuation in pumping operations. Officials are increasingly optimistic.
